Elm Place is the home of support services to people whose lives have been affected by institutional and out-of-home care as children. Specifically Forgotten Australians, Former Child Migrants, the Stolen Generations and people affected by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
“The website builds on the experiences of the Respond SA service and website which has provided services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse since 2004. The Elm Place website replaces this website and provides a lot more. ” said Mergho, Manager, Elm Place, “The new Elm Place website is now a one-stop-shop for people affected by out-of-home care and/or childhood sexual abuse seeking information and support.”
The Elm Place website includes information about Elm Place services, self-help resources, tip sheets and training videos and a directory of other helpful services. Important information from the Respond SA website has been moved to this new website, including the useful Practitioner Registry. The efforts and commitment of Elm Place management and staff, Jo Willmot, Practice Manager for Aboriginal Programs & Policy, Sue Mann, Practice Manager Trauma Counselling and our Communication and Development Team made this collaborative project possible.
We also thank the Department for Child Protection for their funding contribution towards the development of the Elm Place website.
We encourage all to view the website and we welcome your feedback at www.elmplace.org.au
