Where did you meet your first love? How would you describe yourself to a stranger? Where’s the best place to be kissed? What do you never talk about in public? How do you find intimacy in a virtual world?
Following the rise of dating applications such as Tinder and Grindr, Zero Feet Away explores how to find intimacy in virtual spaces, and what actually happens in our heads, our hearts and our bedrooms. Created by a team of professional and community young gay artists, this is innovative, provocative, inspiring and honest theatre not to be missed.
“Zero Feet Away is interactive and socially conscious theatre at its best,” says Edwin Kemp Attrill, Artistic Director ActNow Theatre, “audiences are set to be part of this theatre piece in real time.”
Audience members will be encouraged to be part of this exciting interactive theatre experiment by using their mobile phone. The mobile phone will help facilitate anonymous and safe conversation about sexuality, intimacy and identity that will influence the live performance.
Zero Feet Away is the result of Queer Youth Theatre workshops run by ActNow Theatre in association with Feast Festival through funding from Gay Men’s Health SA. The project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
