Problem gambling is one of the most serious root causes of many socio-economic and family problems including mental health problems and relationship issues. Recent research has also shown a demonstrable link between problem gambling, crime and drug use.
According to the latest census, the South Australian expenditure on gambling has been on the increase over recent years and it is therefore necessary to act regularly to help the people who are the most affected and vulnerable.
