Our Research and Evaluation team has recently developed and started piloting an exciting new tool that allows us to discover vital information about our clients’ health and wellbeing.
The tool, currently known as PACES, follows on from our previous work in risk assessment, which included the development of the Detection of Overall Risk Screen (DOORS).
While DOORS is a screening tool for post-separation clients and law professionals, PACES enables us learn more about the wellbeing of our clients who are not involved in a separation.
PACES measures risk and warning signs in five areas:
- Physical health
- Agency (or self-efficacy)
- Cultural and community connectedness
- Emotional wellbeing
- Safety
PACES helps us to identify the areas that are most concerning to clients, meaning we can tailor our services and programs to individual needs. Practitioners can use this vital information to help clients reduce health and safety risks and work through their problems. This approach ensures the best possible outcomes for anyone who accesses our services.
The development of PACES is just one of many ways in which we ensure that our services are of the highest standard and responsive to the needs of clients and the community.
