The Student Training Clinic is back! The Clinic offers 4 free fortnightly counselling sessions (individual or couples counselling) conducted by our student counsellors in their final stages of training at our registered training organisation, the Australian Institute of Social Relations.
The Student Training Clinic reopens 18 August and will be available through 19 November on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Wednesday morning. Following the 4 free sessions, clients will be able to book additional sessions, if required, with one of our experienced counsellors without being placed on a waiting list.
Our Student Training Clinic has been a successful venture for both students and clients for more than 10 years. Counselling sessions are co-conducted by 2 student counsellors, with an experienced counsellor supervising the session at all times. Up to 3 additional students may also observe the session from behind a glass petition in the viewing room.
Students on placement are bound by the same standards of confidentiality and accountability for their practice as our employed staff, and are supervised by senior practitioners during their placement at all times.
