Tuesday, 13 February marks the 10th Anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations. The Apology was delivered by former-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in 2008.

Relationships Australia South Australia will be involved in two community events to commemorate this significant day.
Walk of Awareness: Port Adelaide, 11:45 am
The community will gather on the northern side of Birkenhead bridge, the walk will continue to the southern side to Hart’s Mill where a Kaurna Welcome to Country, storytelling, music and a community BBQ will take place. All are welcome at this special community gathering.
Honouring the Stolen Generations – Learn, Share, Respect, Heal. Our Healing Journey Continues: Veale Gardens, South Terrace, south of the Conservatory from 10 am – 2 pm
Starting with a peaceful walk from Tarntanyangga (Victoria Square) at 9.30 am (gathering from 8.30 am) to Veale Gardens.
At Veale Gardens, a community healing event for survivors of the Stolen Generations, their families and supporters will be held.
This will be a day of recognition, healing and pampering for members of the Stolen Generations, their families and communities with traditional ceremony, music, art, and storytelling and a community BBQ.
This event is run by a coalition of community organisations led by Uniting Communities. For enquiries, please contact them on 8202 5610.
All members of the public are welcome to attend. Please note that this event will be cancelled if temperatures reach above 36 degrees.
