On Wednesday, 18 July 2012, South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill made a formal apology to parents whose children were removed, and those who were removed from their parents as infants as a result of forced adoption practices.
The apology took place at Parliament House, and Relationships Australia (SA) made a live stream available for those people who wanted to watch it online.
